Six years ago, I was a (passionate) burnt-out-to-a-crisp classroom educator, a young, married, Christ-following, mother of 3, and a strong, career driven woman pursuing a doctoral degree.
And I was a hot MESS.
I felt like my life and identity were divided…I was “teacher Ashlee” at work, “wife and mother Ashlee” at home, and “career climbing Ashlee” in the pursuit of another degree...
I remember thinking to myself, “It shouldn’t be this way, right? I shouldn’t have to split my life up like this…why can’t I JUST BE!!!”
I wanted FREEDOM.
I NEEDED freedom.
Freedom to “just be Ashlee”. Freedom to choose WHO I shared my talents with, WHEN I shared my gifts, and HOW I used my finite time.
